$3.76 before the Iran war. $6.28 on Thursday. The new order trims 24 cents, maybe. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Red Diesel Is Legal on the Highway Now. Most Pumps Won’t Sell It.
Trump’s Monday order lets any driver burn tax-free farm diesel through New Year’s Eve. The tax may still come due, and your state may still write the ticket.
Washington just postponed a tax it may still try to collect. Some savers have started asking what a government this short on money might reach for next.
A word on your savings
Washington has a spending problem. A debt problem. And sooner or later… someone has to pay for it.
Think it won’t be you? You might want to reconsider.
Because while Washington is buried under massive debt… the Department of Justice just argued in court that cash isn’t legally property.
Yes. YOUR CASH. The money sitting in YOUR account. The money YOU spent decades earning. The money YOU planned to retire on.
So ask yourself: if Washington ever gets desperate enough for money… how safe is YOURS?
History has shown what financially desperate governments are capable of. They change rules. They impose restrictions. They look for new sources of money.
And ordinary people often don’t realize what’s happening… until it’s already happening to them.
Meanwhile, your IRA isn’t hidden. Your 401(k) isn’t hidden. Your bank accounts aren’t hidden. They already know exactly where your money is.

The story
Diesel averaged $6.28 a gallon on Thursday, per AAA. Before the Iran war began in late February, it was $3.76.
On Monday night in Grand Island, Nebraska, President Trump signed an order to take the edge off. Through December 31, anyone may burn red-dyed diesel on a public road.
Red diesel is the fuel in tractors, bulldozers and many home furnaces. It is the same diesel, with a dye that marks it as untaxed. Until Monday, a highway truck caught with it faced a federal fine of $1,000 or $10 a gallon, whichever was more.
The order also defers the 24.4-cent federal diesel tax on that fuel. On a 250-gallon fill-up for a big rig, that is about $61.
Deferred is the word to watch. The order asks the Treasury to look for a way to cancel the bill. Until it does, Natso, the truck stop trade group, says the tax is still owed by whoever sells the fuel.
State law is untouched, and many states still fine drivers for red fuel on the road. GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan says the biggest diesel users are the least likely to try it.

Dyed diesel
Ordinary diesel with red dye added so inspectors can spot it. It is sold without road taxes for farms, job sites and home heating. A dipstick at a roadside check shows the color.
Best case
DECEMBER 31, 2026.  The 100 million barrels the G7 agreed to release on October 2 reached the market through the fall. The Gulf Coast refineries came through hurricane season running.
Treasury wrote off the deferred tax before Christmas. Nobody who sold or burned red fuel got a bill in the new year.
Diesel slid back toward $5 by the time the order expired. Most of that came from supply, and the dye had little to do with it.
Your heating oil came in under the $5.26 a gallon the government had forecast for the winter.
The order ran out on schedule, and few truckers noticed. Most had never bought a gallon of red.
Worst case
FEBRUARY 2027.  Pickup owners and small haulers lined up at farm pumps in October. The tanks that fill combines and grain trucks started running low.
Co-ops raised red diesel prices to stretch what they had. The fuel that had always been the cheap one stopped being cheap.
Then Treasury sent the bill. The deferred 24.4 cents came due from the stations that sold the fuel. Some of them built it into their spring prices.
Heating oil comes out of the same barrel, and it ran past the government’s $5.26 forecast. Your furnace was bidding against every truck on the road.
The order had changed who could buy the fuel. It never added a gallon.
Washington can postpone a fuel tax with one signature. A bigger change to the dollar itself may be on the table in December, when Trump hosts the G20 at his Miami resort.
On the dollar
Trump's New Dollar: watch now
On December 14, President Trump will gather the leaders of the world’s largest economies at his private Miami resort.
And I believe what happens there could change the U.S. dollar forever – potentially triggering a historic repricing across American markets.
The pieces are already falling into place:
A flurry of executive orders… billion-dollar government stakes in obscure mining companies… a landmark pact with 13 nations… and a special agreement signed by six billionaire tech moguls.
At Trump’s December summit, those pieces could finally be assembled in public for the first time – and a new kind of dollar presented to the world as a done deal.
Whether you’re a Republican or Democrat – whether you support this monetary shift or oppose it – you could soon be using Trump’s New Dollar.
That’s why I’ve produced this critical new documentary revealing:
Why I believe Trump is desperately trying to reset America’s money…
Why this has nothing to do with Bitcoin or gold – but is tied to the most valuable resource of the 21st century…
And three moves I believe you can make today to prepare – including the name and ticker of the investment I believe could benefit as this shift unfolds.
The last time America reset its money, it reportedly created – on average – more than 1,000 new millionaires every day for five decades.
But that was only one side of the story.
Millions of workers and savers were quietly left behind as their wages stalled, their savings were hollowed out and the American Dream slipped beyond their reach.
Now, I believe that same dividing line could be drawn again.
Good investing,
Porter Stansberry
Here’s How I Think You Can Prepare ›
How it ends
You get a 24-cent break at a few pumps, unless the Treasury bills it back in January.
We ran it both ways, and the tax is the smaller half of the story. At 24.4 cents, it is about 4 percent of what a gallon costs right now.
The bigger half is supply. Tom Kloza of Gulf Oil puts American diesel stocks near 105 million barrels, and the order adds none.
What moves the price sits far from Washington. Tankers still face risk in the Strait of Hormuz. Ukrainian drones keep hitting Russian refineries, and Moscow has kept its own diesel at home since July.
The White House has tried the other levers. It dropped the idea of a diesel export ban after Energy Secretary Chris Wright said a flat ban “definitely doesn’t work.” It pressed the G7 into its 100-million-barrel release.
If you drive a diesel pickup, the math is thin. Check your state’s rules before you pull up to a farm pump, and keep the receipt.
If you heat with oil, the order does nothing for you. That fuel was already free of the federal tax. The government expects the average oil-heated home to pay about $2,115 this winter, 21 percent more than last.
Election Day is 25 days out. The order runs 58 days past it.

The hinge
The IRS guidance on the deferred tax. If the Treasury says the 24.4 cents is forgiven, truck stops start stocking red fuel and the best case is in play. If it says the tax is only postponed, the red pumps stay with the tractors and the order stays a headline.
